Riding the Wave

As rapidly as technology changes, I often feel like teaching (with) technology is an eternal game of catch up. A constant quest to find the perfect balance — teaching students necessary digital literacy skills, developing their logic and problem solving abilities, inspiring them to explore and stretch their boundaries — incorporating new and appropriate ideas into the curriculum, while maintaining a solid base. My philosophy is that I, and by association the curriculum I teach, should be on the cutting edge, but not the bleeding edge. I am not an early adopter. I rarely jump on bandwagons. But when I see a wave coming, I grab my board and jump on. I may not catch the first wave, but I want to get in on that first set.
